Margaret accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 8 and was
baptized. She loved singing and was the Sunday School pianist for her local
church as well as the secretary. She worked in the church for many years in
various positions. She received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the
late Bishop F. L. Haynes at Haynes Chapel C.O.G.I.C. in Dallas, TX.
She sang in the local and State choirs and served as a hostess for the
opening of Sainstville.
She was often called upon to speak but would not call herself a missionary.
A few years later she answered the call of the Lord upon her life and began
to spread the word. It was in 1978 after she hosted a 2 day mission conference
at her local church that she decided she wanted to work in missions. A few
months later she attended a regional mission conference in Oakland, CA
& her heart was touched as never before.
She began to work in the International Mission Department under Bishop
C Moody and Elder Jesse Denny. She also worked in the Western Regional
Mission Department under Elder Garland Bluford for many years.
She served as the State Mission Chair lady under the leadership of the late
Bishop J. A. Blake and after his demise Bishop C.E. Blake. It was at this
time that she became familiar with the foreign mission field traveling with
Elder J. J. Rollins, who was the State Mission President.
In 1987 Mother Moore was appointed District Missionary of the New Hope
District under the late Supt. Eugene Harding where she served faithfully for
3 years. She served as the State expediter for the Jurisdictional Supervisor,
Mother Lucille Howard.
In May 1989 Mother Moore was recommended by Bishop Moody & Elder
Denny to serve on the International Security Team under the leadership of
Bishop A. Z. Hudson. She faithfully served Presiding Bishop J. O. Patterson Sr.,
Bishop L. H. Ford, and Bishop C. D. Owens & their wives at all National Mtgs
of the church until 1997 when she wanted to further her ministry.
In July 1990 Mother Moore was the instructor for The Pastor's & Minister's
Wives class at The Annual Shirley Caesar Conference. During this conference
many ideas for the ministry were birthed in her mind, however the time was not right.
In 1994 she was asked by her Supervisor to organize The State Missionary
Circle. She was responsible for training and teaching the missionaries during
the State Women's Convention. She was later asked to be in charge of the
evangelist aglow hour nightly during The Jurisdictional Convocation. Many ministries were birthed from this circle such as Evangelist Missionaries,
District Missionaries & Assistant Supervisors.
In 1994 Mother Moore was appointed Administrative Aide & CEO to Bishop George Foster of The Idaho Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. She was later appointed
as The Assistant Supervisor of that jurisdiction and served until 1997.
In 1996 Mother Moore was appointed to the Executive Board of the General Assembly of the C.O.G.I.C. by Bishop Frank Ellis. She is yet a member of that committee and currently serves on the Certification & Credentials Commission,
the Resolutions Committee and the Election Commission. In November 2002 Mother Moore was chosen to serve as a Commissioner for the Pastor's & Elders Council in the Constitution Convention.
In 1997 Mother Moore had a feeling that there was much more that The Lord wanted her to do. With this in mind in 1999 that her life took a different turn when she was asked by her pastor at that time, then Presiding Bishop Chandler David Owens to attend a Mission Conference in the Dominican Republic to represent him. She was astonished and in shock that such an honor had been bestowed upon her. She attended the power packed Mission Conference where 12 foreign countries were represented. She sang in the choir composed of 4 different languages. During the conference she was introduced to Overseer Victor Sandiford by Supervisor Lee VanZandt, he invited her to come to Trinidad to speak 1 night during their Women's Convention in May 2000. In March of 2000 his guest speaker for the week had illness in her family and was unable to attend. He then called Mo Moore to see if
she could come for the whole week. She received permission from her pastor to go for the week.
In April at the Spring Call meeting in Memphis, TN Overseer Sandiford said that the Lord had told him that she was to be his Supervisor. At that time the Jurisdiction had been without a Supervisor for several years. Mother Moore again consulted her pastor and received approval to work.
She began her work in Trinidad in May 2000 during the Annual Women's Convention and was officially appointed by Mother Willie Mae Rivers, General Supervisor of Women on November 10. 2000.
In 2002 she organized one of the largest COGIC Women's Conventions to be held in the island nation of Trinidad Since being appointed Mother Moore has organized the Sunshine Band and robed 70 children with the assistance of donations from various people. She also instituted the good shepherd's march in the Jurisdiction in 2001. She also organized the Missionary Circle and Mother's Board. She also started Training Institute during the Women's Convention to familiarize the saints about the doctrine of the Church of God in Christ as well as prepare them for
the work ahead. She has been able with the assistance of Mother Rivers, other supervisors and friends to get sponsors for red cards for the Trinidad delegates attending the International Women's Conventions. Supervisor Moore has served
in Trinidad under the leadership of Overseer Sandiford & Bishop Griffith & is currently working in the 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction with Supt Garcia, Supt. Lewis & Supt Williams.
Mother Moore is an evangelist at heart and enjoys traveling and conducting revivals, seminars and whatever ministry doors are opened to her. She has had
the opportunity to minister in Mexico during the Convocation, the Bahamas Supervisor's Banquet, Panama during the Holy Convocation, Okinawa, Japan
for the Annual Women's Convention, London, England in revival. It is her
desire to go to at least two new countries a year.
Mother Moore is a widow, a mother and a grandmother and loved by all that
"know" her. She has also adopted, mentored & raised many children. Her pride
and joy & the apple of her eye is her grandson Anthony, who celebrated his 16th birthday. Anthony was born under adverse circumstances and according to doctors would not live a week. They taught him sign language said he would never talk or walk, but God. On last year he along with others performed @ his church in the stepping team. In May 2008 he graduated from Junior High School. He recently under went a 9 hr surgery that has tremendously changed his life.
Her Mom, Mrs. Mary Penny suffered a heart attack & numerous strokes & lapsed into a coma once 4 of the 5 children arrived to ICU. The doctors gave her up & told the family there was no hope. However Mother Moore believes in miracles and sat by her Mom's bedside for 30 days & prayed her back to health. Thank God for the power of prayer, they both beat all odds. Her Mom lived for 7 more years (God's number of completion & perfection) The Lord called her home on October 18, 2006.
